You would be forgiven for expecting a brand-new vehicle to be delivered from the factory in flawless condition. In most cases, this couldn’t be further from the truth! 

Sports cars, supercars and hypercars alike are affected, including marring from the factory due to production processes, rework and finishing. 

Handling, storage and the fitment of protective materials during both the build and shipping processes contribute to the wealth of defects present on new vehicles. 

Transportation processes, whether by road, rail, sea or air introduce various degrees of contamination and damage into the paintwork.

Manufacturers therefore allocate time to vehicle dealerships to perform correction during the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) process on each new vehicle.

The allocated time is however highly limited and typically results in the reduction of only the most serious defects and the introduction of further marring from the techniques used.
